Wired 13.08: The Birth of Google. This is a brief article describing the beginnings of the best (at least most popular) search engine yet: Google. It's interesting to learn that google has its major bibliometrics underpinnings. Speaking of bibliometrics, I have to admit that ISI's Web of Knowledge (AKA Web of Science) is such an indispensable tool in the writing process. As a scientist, you really do need to know who cited who and why. I apologize if the link doesn't work for you, you have to have a subscription (usually institutional); thus, you will probably need to have your proxy settings, specific to your university or institute, correctly loaded.
