Open source bibliography for the betterment of science

SourceForge.net: pybliographer-general. Eric Zollars posted in the pybliographer forum about a correspondence recently published in Nature. The correspondence was written by Michael Wendl and David Dooling in reponse to a paper published by David Leslie and Meredith Hamilton entitled "Multitude of reference styles delays publication."

Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway: Multitude of reference styles make EndNote and Reference Manager software publishers rich. I firmly believe that profit is not a bad word, but when it comes to using bibliography software, I'd wish the publishers created software that was not restrictive to a certain OS. I also wish that these software publishers touted a more open-source bibliography standard. However, a la Microsoft, they'd rather keep their format proprietary and restrictive so as to ensure their stranglehold in the industry.
